Ozark Orthopaedic would like to welcome Dr. Stephen Hudson. Originally from Monroe, Louisiana, Dr. Hudson was recruited to the University of Arkansas for football after high school. “I felt right at home in Fayetteville,” he says.
After finishing his undergrad, he went to medical school in New Orleans then came back to Arkansas to complete a residency in Little Rock. “During that time, I did a rotation with Ozark Orthopaedics. I had the opportunity to meet the previous generation of doctors at the clinic (Parks, Harris, Coker)” Hudson says. “I’ve also had a chance to meet several of the other guys through training around the state.”
He and his wife have twin boys who are now freshmen at the University of Arkansas. “We found ourselves with an empty nest, and always have wanted to get back to Northwest Arkansas, so this seemed like a good time and opportunity for our family to do that.”
Dr. Hudson specializes in general orthopaedics, with a focus on total hip and knee replacements. When asked about his patients philosophy he says, “I try to treat my patients like I would a family member. I want to find the right approach for each individual patient. Some people are ready to have surgery right away, others want to try other options before choosing to undergo surgery. I feel it’s important to find the right choice for each patient’s specific situation.”
When he’s not working, Dr. Hudson enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities like road biking, hiking, and camping.
