Spine pain, felt in the back or neck, is common. Most cases of spine pain are temporary but may reoccur. There are several possible causes of spine pain, including a strained muscle or sprained ligament, damage to a part of your spine, or a condition you’re born with.

What are the symptoms of spine pain?

Aside from pain, it may also be accompanied by other symptoms, such as:

– Muscle spasms
– Stiffness in the lower back
– Numbness or weakness in the arms or legs
– Bladder or bowel dysfunction
– Significant loss of motor function

How is spine pain diagnosed?

If you’ve been having spine pain for two weeks, our doctors at Ozark Orthopaedics Spine Center will run some tests to find out what’s causing it.

It may include any or a combination of the following tests:

– X-ray
– Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
– CT scan

These tests can help reveal structural causes of spine pain and detect problems in the spinal cord, nerves, and surrounding areas. The CT scan can provide detailed images of the bones, nerves, and tissues, which can help us accurately diagnose the cause of your spine pain.

How do we treat spine pain?

Treatment depends on the cause and severity of the condition. Initially, we may start with more conservative measures such as prescribing anti-inflammatory medications and muscle relaxants.
